Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Torq mobile app collects, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using Torq, you acknowledge this policy.
1. Information we collect
Torq may process the following information:
- Account information: phone number, license plate, profile name, bio, avatar, and the vehicle information you choose to provide.
- User content: posts, photos, videos, comments, messages, reactions, driver alerts, and reports.
- Location information: precise location you choose to attach to a post, or your latest precise location, speed, heading, and measurement accuracy while the app is open and you enable Live Location. Torq does not create route history. Stored live-location coordinates are deleted when you stop sharing.
- Technical information: user and session identifiers, installation identifier, push-notification token, device name, app version, and device platform.
- Usage information: first-party analytics such as screens opened and key product interactions.
Camera, photo and video library, location, microphone, and notification permissions are optional and requested only when you use the relevant feature. If you choose vehicle recognition from a photo, an artificial-intelligence service provider may process that image to suggest vehicle information.
2. How we use information
- Create accounts and provide secure sign-in
- Operate the feed, search, messaging, and driver-alert features
- Send push notifications
- Display location-tagged posts and live map sharing when you choose to use them
- Review reports, reduce abuse, and protect safety
- Understand app performance and improve the product
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Your choices and controls
You can update profile and content information in the app, report inappropriate profiles or content, and block other users. You can disable push notifications in device settings, revoke location access in iPhone Settings, and stop Live Location at any time in Torq Settings.
You can delete your account in Torq by opening Profile → Settings → Delete Account. If you cannot sign in, use the alternative request method on the account deletion page for another request method.
5. Retention and security
We retain information while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Live location is visible to other users for no more than 15 minutes after its last update and its coordinates are deleted when sharing stops. When an account is deleted, associated information is deleted or de-identified, except for limited records that must be retained for legal or safety reasons. We use technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet transmission is completely risk-free.
6. Children
Torq is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or on this page.
